There are no bones about it — Adcetera owns Halloween. For the third in our series of delightfully dark Halloween books, we looked back at 17 years of our in-house pumpkin-carving contests to find inspiration for unique characters and stunning visuals. Pens, pencils, paintbrushes, 3D modeling and storytelling came together in what can only be described as an act of pure love — and a sharpening of the skills we use to deliver exceptional programs to our clients.
Some things have to be experienced to be believed. From a recipe insert to a packet of your very own pumpkins seeds, Remembrances of Pumpkins Past incorporates a custom, hand-crafted feel on every page. Special finishes like fluorescent orange inks and French folds featuring hidden illustrations, die cuts, a stamped silver foil spine, and gloss varnishes make turning each page an exercise in discovery. A playbill, bar menu, and a tiny, embossed manila envelope containing pumpkin seeds are added (and adorable) extras. So, while we can’t send everyone a copy of the book, we can deliver the next best thing. Watch our video to see just how complex and thoughtful the end product is.
If any project ever truly encapsulates the collaborative spirit that is Adcetera, it’s the Halloween book. From 3D to print, writing to design, photography to hand-lettering, almost every person in our shop had a hand (ha!) in producing some aspect of this project. Requiring 27 press checks (a record? It should be!), this Wire-O-bound book is a soup-to-nuts embodiment of all that we do really, really well.
