Marketing and Advertising Copywriter

Writers at Adcetera interact with every department within the organization, at every step of a project—from the brainstorming session through release. And we’re not afraid to present creative concepts to clients either. If we weren’t comfortable engaging with people, we wouldn’t be in the communications business.

Oh, and did I mention we play with words? This is the writing department we’re talking about here. It’s the place to be when you want to argue semantics, debate the usefulness of serial commas, and have a spirited discussion about how to properly spell colloquial phrases like “a-whole-nother.”

Things you’ll do frequently around here include:
  • Active meeting participation. Ask questions. Offer up ideas. Share your knowledge. No spectators allowed.

  • Concept development. If you have a great idea with legs, we want to execute it.

  • Content generation. Create, edit, and proof messaging for print collateral, in-store retail merchandising, web banners and sites, live-action video, 3D animation, and everything in between.

  • Brand adherence. Some clients will give you more creative freedom, but others will expect you to know exactly where the headline is placed in relation to their logo. Writers at Adcetera know our clients’ brands inside and out, and not just from a words perspective.

  • Professional reassurance. Writers become experts of both the clients and the industries we serve. So when we receive outrageous requests, we know what’s allowed, what’s preferred, and what’s trending with both the markets and the audience.

  • TBD. There’s no “typical day” here. You just never know what you’re about to get yourself into!

Things we’re looking for in a writer:
  • Education. You should have a Bachelor’s degree in advertising, communications, or a related field.

  • Experience. At least three years of professional writing experience. Agency experience never hurts either.

  • Tech savvy. General working knowledge of PCs and Microsoft Office required. Familiarity with industry-related creative software is a plus.

  • Team player. We work collaboratively, and we have each other’s backs.
